Shillong: Sohkha Government Higher Secondary School claimed victory at the Amlarem Golden Jubilee Quiz Competition. The event went down Friday at the Amlarem C&RD Block Training Hall. Four local schools battled through three intense rounds of questions.
Sohkha secured the win with 25 points. Nongtalang Government Higher Secondary School followed in second with 20 points, while Ka Syiem Jingsuk Higher Secondary School finished with 10. The Office of the Sub-Divisional School Education Officer and the Sub-Registrar of Cooperative Societies teamed up to host the match.
District School Education Officer Dr. W. Sumer and Amlarem BDO Dr. D. Lyngdoh attended the event. Dr. Sumer pushed the students to stay sharp. She told the crowd that schools must focus on "the importance of quality education in shaping responsible citizens."
Sub-Registrar WB Pariat highlighted the theme of prosperity through cooperation. He explained how cooperative movements help rural communities grow. Officials ended the day by giving guests living plant bouquets to promote environmental awareness.
