Guwahati: Junaid Ahmed Laskar visited the Silchar Medical College and Hospital blood bank on September 28 to donate blood. He left the facility after his donation, only to discover the juice packet provided as refreshment was well past its expiry date. Laskar immediately raised concerns regarding the health risks for donors who are already physically vulnerable after giving blood.
He has taken official action. Laskar filed a written complaint with hospital authorities after first reporting the issue verbally. He is demanding a full investigation into the slip-up and wants the staff or the vendor held accountable. Donors need safety. He stated, "The quality and expiry dates of food and beverages are properly checked before they are served to blood donors in the future."
