Shillong: Shillong will host a two-day national conference starting July 13 to focus on next-generation administrative and e-governance reforms. The event brings together over 300 delegates, including policymakers and district collectors, to exchange ideas on improving public services.
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma will open the gathering. They lead an inaugural session alongside Nivedita Shukla Verma from the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and Meghalaya Chief Secretary Dr. Shakil P. Ahammed. The department stated the conference aims to provide a national platform for sharing innovative governance practices and promoting next-generation administrative reforms.
Delegates will review winning projects from the Prime Minister’s Awards and national e-governance competitions. The agenda includes specific presentations on digital governance, cybersecurity, healthcare, and education. A special session will focus on State Collaborative Initiatives from the North East. Officials will highlight successful projects from Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland. Organizers hope to speed up tech-enabled administration across the country. "The conference aims to provide a national platform for sharing innovative governance practices," according to the official release.
