Agartala: Punjab National Bank signed a deal with the Tripura government to manage salary accounts for permanent state employees. Dr. Parshant Kumar Goyal, Secretary of the Finance Department, and Bijender Singh, PNB General Manager for the Guwahati Zone, inked the agreement. Rituraj Krishna, DGM and Circle Head of Agartala, and Alok Priydarshi, CAC Head of Agartala, also attended the meeting.
The bank package offers heavy insurance coverage. It includes personal accidental death insurance up to 1.50 crore rupees and air accidental insurance up to 3 crore rupees. Employees also get a permanent total disability cover of up to 1.50 crore rupees. The bank stated, "The MoU brings banking, insurance and other financial facilities for State Government employees and their families under a customised salary account scheme."
Accounts require no minimum balance. Perks include cashless health check-ups, tele-consultation, and hospicash benefits. Employees can access an instant overdraft of twice their average net salary, capped at 2 lakh rupees. The deal covers emergency costs, higher education, and girl-child marriage expenses.
Staff get unlimited free demand drafts and cheque-books. PNB also offers locker concessions and waives annual maintenance charges for Demat accounts. Family members qualify for zero-balance accounts and specific insurance deals. PNB is offering preferential rates on housing, vehicle, education, and personal loans, alongside RuPay debit and credit cards.
