President Droupadi Murmu Begins Three-Day Official Visit to Sikkim

Gangtok: President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Gangtok on May 26 for an official three-day visit to Sikkim. She was welcomed at the Libing Helipad by a delegation led by Governor Om Prakash Mathur and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang.

A broad group of officials gathered to receive the President, including Legislative Assembly Speaker MN Sherpa, Deputy Speaker Raj Kumari Thapa, state ministers, and members of the assembly. Representatives from the Indian Army, senior civil servants, and top police officials were also present to mark her arrival.

The President has a busy schedule planned during her time in the state. She is set to attend the 7th convocation ceremony of Sikkim University and will formally present the President of India's Police Colour to the Sikkim Police.
