Police Seize Rs 1 Crore in Heroin and Arrest Two in Assam

Guwahati: Jorhat police seized heroin worth approximately Rs 1 crore on June 1 after intercepting two men on a motorcycle. The operation took place on TRP Road as part of a targeted effort to curb drug trafficking in the state.

Authorities identified the two arrested individuals as they were transporting the narcotics from Merapani to Jorhat. Police stopped the pair during a special patrol and recovered the illicit shipment upon searching their vehicle.

Law enforcement officials have registered a case regarding the incident. Investigators are now working to identify the origin of the drugs and uncover additional members of the trafficking network involved in the operation.
