Agartala: Tripura police pulled a massive load of narcotics off the street late Friday night. Officers patrolling near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Sepahijala district stopped a shipment worth Rs 21.5 lakh. The find occurred in the Kulubari border road area.

Sonamura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Tapas Das confirmed the haul included 2.5 kilograms of Yaba tablets, totaling 24,000 pills. They also grabbed 420 strips of Tepandotal tablets. That adds another 4,200 pills to the pile.

Police took the haul into custody as unclaimed property after finishing the paperwork. "A case has been registered, and Sonamura Police have launched an investigation to identify those responsible for possessing and transporting the contraband," said officials. Authorities suspect the drugs were staged for illegal cross-border smuggling. Detectives are now digging into the source of the shipment.
