Police Seize Heroin in Manipur Drug Bust

Imphal: Bishnupur District Police cornered two men following a high-stakes drug bust on August 11. Working with Central Security Forces and Churachandpur police, the team intercepted a Scorpio vehicle with license plate AS 01BQ 0104. The SUV was moving from Churachandpur toward Imphal when officers stopped it. They found 96 grams of suspected heroin hidden inside nine soap cases.

Officers arrested Md. Abdur Rahaman, 29, and Md. Saruk Khan, 24. Police confiscated their two mobile phones and the Scorpio. The suspects are now being processed as part of the state War on Drugs campaign. Officials are working to map the smuggling route. Investigators are currently trying to identify others involved in the supply chain to break the network. As authorities stated regarding the ongoing enforcement, "Further investigation is underway to trace the source and intended destination of the suspected narcotics and identify other persons who may be linked to the alleged trafficking network."
