Guwahati: Police in Guwahati are investigating the death of Parul Moni Pegu. Officers discovered her body hanging in her rented home on Monday night. She lived at House No. 7 on Tribeni Path in the Chachal area. Pegu moved there three months ago for her job at a Reliance insurance office.

The room stayed locked all day. Neighbors grew worried when she failed to answer her phone. Her family and coworkers arrived in the evening and found her inside. Dispur police arrived soon after to process the scene. They recovered the body and started the legal process.

Co-workers claim Pegu struggled with a relationship involving a married man. They said she recently learned about his wife and suffered heavy emotional distress. These claims remain unverified. Meanwhile, a leader from the Takam Mising Porin Kebang alleged the death looks like a hit. They stated: "It could be a case of planned murder."

The organization is calling for an impartial probe. Police officials have yet to confirm foul play. The investigation continues as authorities wait for more evidence.
