Guwahati: A high-speed motorcycle crash followed by a second vehicle ramming into the scene left five people injured in Assam's Cachar district. The chaos started near Shibtila on the Silchar-Imphal National Highway.

A speeding motorcycle hit a pedestrian named Abdul Halim. The rider, Akash Singh, also went down. Locals rushed both men to Emmanuel Ruel Hospital. Halim needed more specialized care, so doctors sent him to Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

Lakhipur police arrived to clear the road and investigate the wreck. They did not expect what happened next. A black Thar sped toward the gathered crowd. It slammed into Sub-Inspector Deepak Kumar Chauhan and two bystanders, Enam Uddin and Abdul Kasem.

The driver tried to escape the scene after the impact. Angry locals chased the Thar and blocked its path. They caught the driver, Suraj Sinha of Manipur, and handed him to the police. Hospital officials confirmed that "the conditions of Enam Uddin and Abdul Kasem remain critical." All three victims from the second crash are now at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
