Police Arrest Two Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad Leaders Over Extortion Charges

Guwahati: Duliajan Police arrested two leaders of the Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad on charges of extortion following a complaint from a private contractor. The individuals, identified as Ranjit Bora and Prahlad Gogoi, allegedly demanded money from a firm currently engaged in operations for Oil India Limited.

Authorities launched an investigation into the matter immediately after receiving the report. Officers have taken the pair into custody to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident. Police are currently interrogating the men to establish the facts of the case, noting that "further details are awaited as the investigation continues."
