Police Apprehend Bihar Man for Armed Robbery in Assam

Guwahati: Jogighopa Police arrested Rohit Yadav, a resident of Katihar, Bihar, for an alleged snatching attack in the Bongaigaon district of Assam. Yadav stands accused of stealing a bag filled with cash from a teacher at Kabaitari in Jogighopa. He did not act alone.

Authorities identified the suspect as a member of a local outfit known as the Irani gang. Locals helped police collar him. The capture followed a chaotic scene as residents assisted officers in the arrest.

Police searched Yadav and turned up damning evidence. They recovered a sharp iron weapon, a quantity of cash, and items described by officers as "materials suspected to be used to render victims unconscious."

The investigation continues. Police are digging into the gang’s connections as the suspect remains in custody.
