Itanagar: Papum Pare officials are making a final run at cleaning up electoral rolls. Electoral Roll Observer Vivek H.P. gathered political representatives and election staff at Yupia on August 24 to review the Special Intensive Revision 2026. The objective is simple. They want a credible, error-free list.

Vivek H.P., who also serves as the Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, demanded full transparency and public trust throughout the process. Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak insisted that the revision must stay clear of partisan games. "The SIR exercise should remain non-political and free from political interference," Tagak said during the meeting.

Doimukh MLA Nabam Vivek praised the Booth Level Officers for their hard work. Deputy Commissioner Mamu Hage confirmed the district added 11 new polling stations to the existing map. EROs from the 13-Itanagar, 14-Doimukh, and 15-Sagalee constituencies attended, alongside ZPMs and election officials.

Authorities will accept and process claims and objections through September 18. The final electoral roll goes live on September 22, 2026.
