Kohima: MLA Nuklutoshi Longkumer cut the ribbon on two new roads in Akhoya village on June 27. The projects include L. Pangersowa Road and the stretch from Longchara Junction to the R.C. Chiten Jamir Memorial GHS. Crews built both roads under the SASCI 2025-26 budget.
Rev. T. Lanu opened the ceremony with a prayer. The crowd gathered later at the R.C. Chiten Jamir Memorial GHS Assembly Hall to mark the completion. Nuklutoshi credited Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and Urban Development minister Zhaleo Rio for keeping the work on track.
The MLA also thanked advocate Akum Jamir for the high-quality construction and the local landowners for their help. He told the crowd that real progress relies on unity. Nuklutoshi stated, "Meaningful development can be achieved when all stakeholders-people, landowners and construction agencies-work together with a refined mindset and common purpose."
Officials and community leaders offered short speeches throughout the day. Participants included Changtongya SDO Sangpanchang Longkumer and village council chairman Tiatemjen. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Akhoya Senso Mungdang president Imsuakum Jamir.
