Kohima: The National Socialist Council of Nagaland-K (Niki) has issued an urgent appeal for unity among the Naga community following a series of disturbing fatalities in Southern Nagaland, specifically within the jurisdiction of the United Naga Council. The organization characterized these violent incidents as deeply alarming and argued that mere condemnation is inadequate to address the gravity of the current situation.

According to the group, there is a deliberate attempt by external forces to destabilize Naga political aspirations by reframing the regional conflict as a communal and law-and-order crisis. The NSCN-K (Niki) emphasized that the community must remain focused on its historical political objectives rather than being swayed by these external distractions. Addressing the ongoing friction between Naga and Kuki communities, the statement requested that both parties consider the broader, long-term consequences of the conflict.

The organization reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to protecting the identity, culture, and ancestral lands of the Naga people. It cautioned that the collective patience and restraint exercised by the Nagas should not be misinterpreted as a sign of weakness. Furthermore, the group issued a call to action for Nagas across all regions, including the North, South, East, and Central sectors, to set aside internal grievances and foster a unified front to navigate these present challenges effectively.
