Imphal: The NSCN-IM hit back at the Ministry of Home Affairs today. The outfit rejected recent government claims linking them to a violent clash and the destruction of poppy fields. The group dismissed the official order as a collection of groundless accusations rather than hard facts.
The organization claims investigators lacked evidence. It maintains that tying them to the violence is a reach. The NSCN-IM denied any part in the shootouts or the deaths mentioned in the government filing. They worry the allegations bias the public before an impartial probe can finish.
The group emphasized its legal status in India. They pointed to the 2002 Milan Memorandum of Understanding to assert their position. "The NSCN-IM termed the allegations baseless and asserted that the order was based on accusations rather than established facts," the statement read.
Leaders now demand a fair investigation built on actual evidence. They want the Indian government to stick to existing peace agreements. The group insists on a transparent approach to clear their name.
