Kohima: Members of the Naga People's Front (NPF) 18th Chozuba Assembly Constituency gathered at Bamboo Hall in Kisama on June 13 to discuss party unity and the pursuit of an early resolution to the Naga political issue. The meeting served as a forum for local leaders to rally behind the organisation and reaffirm their support for Chief Minister and NPF president Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
Kudecho Khamo, the MLA for the constituency, urged members to prioritize the collective interest of the party over personal ambitions. Addressing the audience, Khamo described the merger between the NDPP and the NPF as "God's divine plan" and encouraged workers to honor the political legacy left by former Chief Minister Vamuzo Phesao. He also promoted several local initiatives, including his "One Family, One Project" program, and requested public cooperation for the upcoming Census 2027.
Former MLA and Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency chairman Nuzota Swuro emphasized the need for a resilient regional party to navigate current political challenges. Other party officials, including NPF Central Women Wing president Sano Vamuzo and Central Office Bearers working president Pusazo Luruo, echoed the call for strategic planning and unity. They highlighted the party's ongoing commitment to developmental goals, agricultural progress, and a sustainable political settlement.
The assembly officially resolved to strengthen the organization while backing Dr. Rio's leadership. Attendees also used the meeting to express gratitude to the Chief Minister for appointing several individuals from the Chozuba constituency to key roles, such as leadership positions within the Central Legal Cell and party divisions.
