North Shillong Youth Leader Ditches NPP for BJP

Shillong: Kitborlang Jarain quit the National People’s Youth Front. He stepped down as the North Shillong president on October 16. He claimed personal reasons drove the move. Jarain sent a letter to the NPP leadership to ensure his departure caused no trouble for the party. He thanked his former colleagues for the chance to lead the youth wing.

The BJP wasted no time. Chief spokesperson Mariahom Kharkrang formally inducted Jarain into the party on Thursday. Kharkrang believes the move will inspire other young voters in North Shillong to join their ranks. He stated, "his entry would encourage more youth from North Shillong to join the party." The shift signals a new push for the BJP in the constituency.
