Kohima: Norman Putsure College kicked off the 2026 academic session on August 1 in Chümoukedima. The event, dubbed Enchanted Bloom, brought new and senior students together on campus. They wanted to build bonds and show off hidden skills.
Principal Dr. Timothy Langwangbe opened the formal proceedings with a speech. He told the new arrivals to aim for academic success. "He encouraged the freshers to embrace academic excellence, pursue personal growth, and actively participate in campus life without fear."
Seniors set the tone with a welcome song and a speech from representative Mark Kikon. A special musical performance filled the room. Temsunenla Jamir closed the formal session with a vote of thanks.
The Mr. and Miss Fresher contest stood out as the day’s main event. Contestants moved through traditional, casual, formal, and final rounds. Judges tracked confidence, creativity, and personality. S Tsoiniu Grace Khiam from the Sociology Department took the title of Miss Fresher. Machiting from the Political Science Department claimed the title of Mr. Fresher.
