Imphal: Security forces including the National Investigation Agency, Manipur Police, and CRPF have arrested ten suspects linked to a series of violent crimes across the state. The joint operation, conducted across the Churachandpur, Imphal, and Ukhrul districts, targeted individuals involved in high-profile incidents including the 5th IRB arms loot, the murder of a Hmar woman in Jiribam, and several attacks on security personnel.

Four individuals identified as members of Arambai Tenggol were apprehended for their role in the February 2024 looting of firearms from the 5th India Reserve Battalion in Imphal East. The NIA noted that during questioning, the accused allegedly acknowledged their membership and participation in the conspiracy. The agency stated that "the accused were not fully cooperating with the investigation" as they requested ten days of police custody for further interrogation.

In a separate case, authorities arrested two men, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Manipur Police, for the November 2024 rape and murder of Zosangkim in Jiribam. Investigations revealed that the victim was burnt alive by armed militants linked to Arambai Tenggol and the Manipur People's Army. The suspects, Salam Deepak Singh and Ningthoujam Boboy Singh, were taken into custody following admissions of their involvement.

The remaining four arrests involve ongoing investigations into the robbery of a Punjab National Bank branch in Ukhrul, the abduction and killing of four Kuki individuals, an April 2024 attack on CRPF personnel in Narainsena, and an ambush on the Chief Minister's convoy. All suspects have been presented before a Duty Magistrate to facilitate further police custody as the investigations continue.
