Guwahati: A new facility called Pohor opened its doors in Milan Nagar, Naharkatia, on Sunday. It serves specially abled children. Pampi Saha, head of the Naharkatia Municipal Board, cut the ribbon at the inaugural event.
The center focuses on growth. It offers speech therapy, special education, and behavioral analysis. These programs aim to give kids the tools they need for a better future. The team wants to help every child reach their potential.
Kiran Rajkumari, a social auditor from Assam Medical College and Hospital, shared the vision for the site. She noted the importance of getting kids help early. "The centre will play a significant role in creating a supportive environment for children and help them develop into productive members of the society," Rajkumari said.
Community leaders and local officials packed the room to show support. Retirees, sports association heads, and party members watched as the doors opened. Kiran Rajkumari and Dimpi Sonowal will run the daily operations and therapy schedules. This facility fills a gap in regional services for families needing extra care for their children.
