Imphal: The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) has issued a sharp condemnation following the discovery of six Naga men from Konsakhul Naga Village. The victims were abducted from Leilon Vaiphei Village on May 13, and their mutilated remains were recovered nearly a month later on June 10.

In a formal statement, the organization described the incident as a barbaric and inhumane act. NESO expressed deep anguish over reports that the men were subjected to torture prior to their deaths, noting that the cruelty involved was "beyond comprehension." The group has offered its condolences to the grieving families and pledged support to the affected residents of Konsakhul.

The organization is demanding an impartial investigation and the immediate arrest of those responsible for the violence. They warned that a failure to prosecute the perpetrators will only embolden future acts of lawlessness. The group highlighted the incident as further evidence of a deteriorating security environment in Manipur, despite the heavy presence of state and central security personnel.

Questioning the effectiveness of current law enforcement, the student body pointed to a lack of convictions in previous cycles of violence. They urged the Government of India to address the culture of impunity and ensure equal protection for all communities. According to NESO, lasting peace in the region remains impossible without strict accountability and decisive legal action against anyone involved in criminal activities.
