Kohima: The Nationwide Information, Education and Communication campaign wrapped up its week-long outreach in the Wokha district and Chiephobozou block on May 25. Centered on the theme of Jan Bhagidari, the initiative aimed to advance the vision of Viksit Bharat by improving the delivery of government welfare services to tribal groups and vulnerable populations.
Teams conducted various outreach activities throughout the region, including health screenings, livelihood workshops, and sessions to help residents access their official entitlements. These camps functioned as both an awareness drive and a performance review to evaluate the reach of current government programs.
Wokha Deputy Commissioner Mhathung Tsanglao praised the participating departments for completing the work despite significant challenges, such as poor road connectivity, rugged terrain, and difficult weather. He noted that the campaign successfully reached remote areas that often struggle with accessibility.
The initiative provided officials with valuable data regarding where service gaps exist, offering a foundation for future efforts. Tsanglao emphasized that strong cooperation between local administration, banking institutions, and village councils is essential to ensuring that every eligible beneficiary receives support in the long term.
