Itanagar: The Nah Welfare Society claims the Chinese People's Liberation Army is setting up shop on Indian soil. They sent a formal warning to the Deputy Commissioner in the Upper Subansiri district on June 26. The group says PLA soldiers have moved into Taksing circle borders and built bridges and roads where locals used to hunt.
These sites were once grazing grounds. Now, they are off-limits. The society identified five specific locations under Chinese occupation since 2020: Oying, Paniar, Marpan, Potrang Lake, and Tindingtang. These spots carry deep cultural and religious weight for the local people.
The group demands federal intervention to stop the expansion. While they trust the Indian Army, they insist officials need to move faster. The society stated, "stronger intervention was needed to safeguard what it described as Indian territory." They backed their claims with photos handed over to the district administration.
