Kohima: Nagaland University held a blood donation camp at the University Health Centre in Lumami on September 25. The event marked the upcoming National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, officially observed on October 1. PRO Peter Ki chaired the inaugural session. NU Registrar Dr. Abemo served as the chief guest.
Dr. Abemo pushed the importance of donations for public health. He praised the volunteers for their generosity. "Their selfless act would be remembered," he said. He emphasized how vital these contributions are for the broader healthcare system.
Pathologist Dr. Apong led the medical team from Mokokchung Civil Hospital. He explained how blood components serve different patient needs. Every unit matters. Small contributions drive meaningful change. Senior Medical Officer Dr. Sungkum Jamir finished the program with a vote of thanks.
Students, staff, and local residents stepped up. The camp saw 15 donors roll up their sleeves. NSS volunteers and villagers joined the university community for the drive.
