Nagaland Students Invited to 2026 Energy Conservation Painting Contest

Kohima: The Bureau of Energy Efficiency is hosting a nationwide painting competition on energy conservation for 2026. Students in Nagaland face two distinct categories. Group A includes classes V, VI, and VII. Group B covers classes VIII, IX, and X. Participants must focus their work on the themes: Save Energy at School and Home, or Energy Conservation is the Key to Energy Security.

Individual schools manage the initial round. They must pick the top two paintings from each group and send them to the State Nodal Officer before October 27, 2026. Judges will then select 50 students from each category to move on to the state-level event. This session happens between November 14 and 21, 2026. The top three winners from these groups earn a ticket to the national finals on December 11, 2026.

Cash rewards sit on the table. State-level winners get Rs 50,000 for first, Rs 30,000 for second, and Rs 20,000 for third. Judges also hand out ten appreciation prizes of Rs 7,500 each. National stakes go higher. "The top three winners from both groups will qualify to represent Nagaland at the National-Level Competition on December 11, 2026." Those national victors walk away with Rs 1 lakh, Rs 50,000, and Rs 30,000, plus medals and laptops. Appreciation winners at that stage get Rs 15,000 and tablets.
