Kohima: Nagaland Police will go live on Facebook this Wednesday to fight the state's drug problem. The broadcast starts at 11:00 AM and runs for ninety minutes. It falls on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
Officials cite the state's location near the Golden Triangle as a major headache. Traffickers use these corridors to move narcotics through the Northeast. Substance abuse among local youth continues to climb. Police want to stop the rot.
The session will cover legal risks under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Experts will also explain how to find rehab and treatment. The force is targeting students, educators, and NGO workers who handle de-addiction efforts. They want the public to take an active role.
Parents need to stay alert. Youth leaders must take charge. The event features a chat segment where viewers can quiz senior officers and experts in real time. "The initiative is designed to reach audiences who may not otherwise be able to attend an in-person event, while still allowing them to ask questions and engage directly with senior police officers and resource persons," the department stated.
Police are pushing for high turnout. They want every home and school to tune in. Participation is the only way to build a drug-free Nagaland.
