Kohima: Nagaland will host an open recruitment rally for the Indian Air Force Agniveervayu scheme this September. This event marks the return of air force hiring to the state after a ten-year hiatus. Officials finalized the plans during a June 10 meeting in Kohima involving the Home Department and various state agencies.
Wing Commander A Muralidharan stated that youth in the Northeast often miss these opportunities because of low awareness. He noted that the IAF is conducting the rally "after a gap of 10 years" and asked the state government for logistical support. This includes housing for roughly 77 personnel and transport for the event.
Organizers tentatively picked the Nagaland Armed Police Training Centre in Chumoukedima for the site. It already holds the necessary infrastructure. Police, medical teams, and education officials will manage the crowds, verify documents, and provide safety services. The Information and Public Relations department will run a publicity campaign across all districts to boost turnout.
The rally will accept both male and female candidates for non-technical roles. The Air Force will publish official eligibility requirements 45 days before the start date.
