Kohima: Thungchibemo N. Ezung, a 24-year-old entrepreneur and youth leader from Nagaland, has been selected to join the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions. The event takes place in Dalian, China, from June 23 to 25. He will attend as one of seven representatives from South Asia within the Global Shapers Community delegation, an initiative involving 60 young leaders worldwide.
Known as the Summer Davos, this forum brings together over 1,500 participants from government, business, and academia. This year’s meeting centers on the theme Innovating at Scale. Attendees will explore topics including artificial intelligence, workforce transformation, climate systems, and economic development.
Ezung currently serves as the Founder and Director of Wealth Track Health Services Pvt. Ltd., a startup focused on improving health equity in Northeast India. His company recently received recognition through an Open Challenge hosted by the Software Technology Parks of India. Beyond his health sector work, he has promoted indigenous craftsmanship through Pipo Jewellery and the Nagaland Handmade Jewellery Exhibition since 2016.
His efforts to drive social impact were previously highlighted in a UNDP India publication titled Stories of Change. As the Curator of the Global Shapers Community Kohima Hub, Ezung remains active in initiatives concerning education and grassroots sustainability. He expressed that he looks forward to bringing regional perspectives on resilience and culture to the global stage.
