Nagaland Completes All Major RUSA 2.0 Education Projects

Kohima: Nagaland has officially finalized all major projects under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan 2.0. Minister for Higher Education and Tourism, Temjen Imna Along, announced the milestone while inaugurating a classroom expansion at Fazl Ali College in Mokokchung.

The state government reports that every government college involved in the scheme successfully completed its assigned work. Addressing the achievement, Along said, "All the major projects of RUSA 2.0 have been successfully completed, and we are one of the first states in the nation to complete RUSA 2.0 projects without any issues."

The newly inaugurated academic block at Fazl Ali College cost Rs 1.80 crore to construct. The building features four classrooms and toilet facilities, providing enough space to accommodate up to 180 students. The project was funded jointly by the Ministry of Education and the Nagaland government.

With the current phase concluded, the Department of Higher Education is shifting its focus to the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan. The state is currently developing four new model colleges in Tseminyu, Niuland, Noklak, and Shamator, with additional plans for colleges in Tuli and Chümoukedima.

Minister Along attributed the progress to consistent support from the Union Ministry of Education and Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio, who has ensured state funding despite financial limitations. Looking forward, the Minister emphasized the necessity of strengthening human resources to ensure Nagaland remains competitive in science, research, and entrepreneurship.
