Kohima: The Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) School Ministry hosted a two-day training program for educators in Pungro Town on June 4 and 5. Held at the EBRC Hall, the event brought together 41 teachers from four mission schools located in Mimi, Moya, Pungro Town, and Pungro Village.
The initiative focused on improving teaching effectiveness and strengthening mentorship skills while reinforcing the mission goals of the participating schools. A team led by Moa Walling, principal of Christian Higher Secondary School (CHSS) in Dimapur, facilitated the sessions alongside representatives from the NBCC and the CHSS faculty.
The curriculum covered essential topics such as soft skills, classroom management, and parental engagement. Experts also provided subject-specific instruction for teachers specializing in Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, English, and foundational learning. Organizers urged the attendees to remain dedicated to their professional growth and the spiritual development of their students.
During the concluding ceremony, participants received certificates and were encouraged to reflect on their roles. The speakers issued a collective challenge for the educators to continue serving as mentors in their communities, noting that they should "pursue professional excellence while nurturing Christ-centred values in their educational ministries." The event was coordinated with support from EBRC Coordinator Birimong and hosted by the Pungro Village and Pungro Town Baptist churches.
