Kohima: The Naga People’s Front Central Women Wing gathered in Kohima on July 10 to push for more female political power. Women leaders from all 60 Assembly Constituencies packed the headquarters. They want more seats at the table. The daylong seminar covered political literacy and the challenges of campaigning.
Speakers included Deputy Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang and several NPF advisors. They tackled tough topics like overcoming fear and building better systems for voters. One session theme focused on the need for change, titled "Her Seat, Her Say: Building a Democracy that Makes a Better Nagaland."
The afternoon session pivoted to survival. Experts discussed health, financial freedom, and sustainable farming. MLA Hekani Jakhalu and Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse led these talks on public welfare and economic independence. The event ended with a group promise to keep fighting for better representation in the state government.
