Imphal: Residents in Kamjong are facing ongoing power outages after the 33/11 kV sub-station suffered repeated transmission line trips over the past week. Customers have received only limited electricity throughout the duration of the disruption.

S. Shangriwung, the manager of Transmission Sub-division No. VIII, confirmed that crews have been working to resolve the issue since Monday. Locating the exact source of the fault has proven difficult, as the affected transmission line spans 56 kilometers across challenging, heavily forested terrain.

The utility provider has expressed regret for the situation and is asking for patience while technical teams complete the necessary repairs. The company aims to identify and fix the cause of the frequent tripping as quickly as possible to restore normal service to the area.
