Itanagar: Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak toured the flood-wrecked Koyu circle in Lower Siang on Saturday. He walked through mud-caked villages to see the ruin firsthand. Joined by MLA Tojir Kadu and local officials, Tagak surveyed twenty villages where flash floods tore through homes, roads, and farms.

The devastation is massive. Tagak handed out 7 lakh rupees of his own funds as a quick fix for the survivors. He promised to lobby the Centre for a dedicated relief package to jumpstart rebuilding efforts. The scale of the wreck is too big for the state to handle alone.

Tagak plans to team up with MPs Tapir Gao and Kiren Rijiju to press the government for help. He also wants lawmakers from neighboring Assam to join the push. "The scale of devastation requires substantial assistance from the Central government," Tagak said after the tour.

A Central team led by Nishtha Tiwari recently checked the damage across several districts. Tiwari, a Joint Secretary in the Home Ministry, promised help while crews finalize the loss reports. These assessments will decide the size of the final federal rescue package.
