Kohima: The Mokokchung district administration in Nagaland has introduced the District Action Plan for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2026 campaign. This local initiative aligns with the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment mission to eradicate substance abuse across the country.

The administration developed a four-pronged strategy to tackle the regional drug crisis. This approach focuses on dismantling illegal drug trafficking networks to cut off supply, implementing programs to reduce dependency among current users, and launching extensive awareness campaigns for vulnerable communities. To ensure the initiative remains effective, the plan includes a formal monitoring and documentation system to track progress and maintain accountability.

District officials and various civil society organizations are collaborating on these efforts with specific tasks assigned under set timelines. These stakeholders aim to work together to "combat substance abuse, dismantle drug networks, and promote a healthier and drug-free environment across Mokokchung district."
