Moderate Earthquake Rattles Tripura's Dhalai District

Agartala: A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck Tripura's Dhalai district during the early hours of Sunday, October 4. The National Centre for Seismology recorded the tremor at 12:57:38 am. It happened deep underground.

The quake occurred at a depth of 30 kilometres. Its epicentre sat at latitude 23.757°N and longitude 91.995°E. The agency confirmed these details on its official X account shortly after the ground shook.

Officials report no casualties. Property damage remains nonexistent at this hour. Life continues as normal, as authorities have not reported any major disruption following the tremor. The NCS, the nation's primary body for tracking seismic activity, continues to monitor the region for aftershocks. As of now, the agency states, "Further information on the impact of the earthquake, if any, is awaited."
