Aizawl: The government of Mizoram has officially rescinded its decision to re-employ retired official R Lalrodingi as the Director of the Tourism Department. This reversal follows significant public and administrative pushback regarding the legitimacy and necessity of the appointment.

Lalrodingi, who concluded her tenure as Additional Director in the Commerce, Industries, Geology and Mining Department on April 30, was initially slated for a return to public service. Under an order issued on April 24, the administration had approved her appointment as the Tourism Director while simultaneously naming her an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister, effective May 1.
