MGM College Trains Faculty on Academic Writing and AI Research Tools

Kohima: MGM College hosted a workshop on academic writing and artificial intelligence in Dimapur on October 3. The event aimed to sharpen research skills and modern writing competencies among the teaching staff. Lopilo P Yanthan, the head of the commerce department, chaired the session while Ahikali I Jakha led the invocation. Principal Dr R K Behera opened the day with a formal welcome address.

Dr Wapanginla Ao, Dean of Management Studies at C-Edge College, served as the primary resource person. She guided faculty through the entire research lifecycle. This included identifying specific problems, reviewing existing literature, and formatting papers for final publication. The session stressed the need for steady output. "Confidence in academic writing develops through continuous learning, regular practice, perseverance and a willingness to improve," Dr Ao told the attendees.

Dr Ao shared personal lessons from her own doctoral journey. She urged the staff to pick a research focus and stick with it through the grind of the PhD process. The training also examined how to use AI tools responsibly to push research goals forward. The institution views this as a vital step in its ongoing push for scholarly excellence.

IQAC Coordinator Jemsungba Walling offered a final vote of thanks to wrap up the event. Mhonlumo T Tsopoe, an assistant professor of economics, provided the closing benediction. This workshop is one of many initiatives at MGM College designed to foster a consistent culture of rigorous investigation and professional growth.
