Kohima: The Merangkong Laishir Telungjem hosted its 16th annual conference from May 22 to 24, 2026, at the Merangkong Baptist Church. Held under the theme Reviving the Authentic Faith in a Nominal World, the three-day event drew 72 members for a series of worship sessions, panel discussions, and outreach activities.
Ao Senden president Marsanen Imsong attended as the special guest, where he challenged attendees to lead lives of integrity. He pointed to the legacy of the first Ao Naga convert, Longjanglepzuk, as a model for villagers to follow while encouraging the community to maintain strong bonds and a shared sense of purpose.
The conference featured expert insights on contemporary issues impacting the church. Akangtemsu, youth director at Mokokchung Town Baptist Church, and Dr. Bendangmenla from Clark Theological College led discussions on how to expand ministry beyond church walls and the complex influence of social media on religious participation.
Participants spent the second day engaging in local outreach and home visitation programs to strengthen fellowship within the congregation. These visits included stops at the Merangkong Town Baptist Church, the Merangkong School Compound Baptist Church, and the local Baptist church. The organization concluded the event by thanking the host church for its hospitality and offering prayers for continued unity.
