Imphal: A Meitei organization based in the Imphal East District has provided relief to residents in Namlee, Wanglee, and Choro following an attack by suspected Myanmar-based armed groups on May 7. The Eramdam Kanba Lup, known as EKAL, distributed rice, cooking oil, drinking water, and dal to families struggling to recover from the violence, which left homes destroyed and property looted.

Representatives from 16 units under EKAL traveled to Khamlang village in the Kamjong district to deliver the supplies. The donation was accepted by the Khamlang village authority and the Kasom Khullen Sub-Division Students Union. Local leaders expressed appreciation for the support as these border communities work to rebuild after the incident.

EKAL advisor Wangkheirakpam Ngouba described the humanitarian effort as a gesture of solidarity with the Tangkhul Nagas. He noted that the organization previously carried out a similar mission in Litan to show support for the Naga community. Village elder Reverend Prangthoching Ningshen thanked the group for their assistance during this period of significant hardship.

During the distribution, representatives from the organization also condemned the recent abduction of Naga hostages and called for their immediate release. They emphasized the need for unity among Manipur's hill and valley communities to overcome ongoing instability.
