Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma Meets Stakeholders to Address State Development Issues

Shillong: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma hosted a series of meetings at his official residence in Shillong on Tuesday, engaging with community groups and organizations to address concerns surrounding infrastructure, employment, and industrial development. The sessions provided a platform for diverse stakeholders to present their grievances and proposals directly to the administration.

Representatives from church organizations, including the Synod Sepngi and Holy Eucharist Church, discussed cultural initiatives and environmental projects. They were joined by woodcraft artist Gilford Pde and The Lou Majaw Foundation, who focused on the promotion of local arts and crafts.

Labor and service associations also utilized the meetings to voice critical needs. Delegations from the Meghalaya ASHA Workers Union, the All Meghalaya Grade IV Government Employees Association, and the Meghalaya Election Enumerators’ Service Association raised issues regarding honorariums and working conditions. Additionally, teacher trainees from the District Institute of Education and Training sought government intervention to release pending educational stipends.

Economic and regional concerns were brought forward by the Meghalaya Poultry Farmers and Welfare Association, the Jaintia Hills Cement Manufacturers Association, and the Hynniewtrep Border Dispute Redressal Forum. These groups addressed topics ranging from industrial growth and recruitment to the welfare of residents in border villages.

Sangma confirmed that his office would review all feedback and suggestions provided during the discussions. He reiterated that the administration remains committed to balanced progress, stating, "Regular engagement with citizens and organisations remains a priority to address state-wide challenges."
