Imphal: A coordinated security operation across Manipur has led to the arrest of 10 individuals linked to multiple high-profile criminal and insurgency cases. Joint teams comprising the Manipur Police, the National Investigation Agency, and the Central Reserve Police Force carried out the raids in the Churachandpur, Imphal, and Ukhrul districts.

These arrests follow a series of violent incidents that have disrupted the state over the past year. The suspects are allegedly involved in the ambush of the Chief Minister's convoy, the looting of weapons from the 5th India Reserve Battalion, and a bank robbery at the Punjab National Bank branch in Ukhrul. Other cases connected to the operation include the murder of a Hmar woman in Jiribam, the abduction and killing of four Kuki individuals, and an attack on CRPF personnel stationed at Narainsena.

Security officials stated the operation was part of an intensified crackdown on individuals who threaten law and order. According to officials, the operations were carried out in districts including Churachandpur, Imphal and Ukhrul as part of an intensified crackdown on individuals linked to serious criminal and insurgency-related cases under investigation.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the detainees while investigators work to clarify their specific roles in the reported crimes. Security agencies maintain that operations remain ongoing as part of a broader push to ensure accountability for the recent surge in regional violence.
