Imphal: Tensions are boiling over in the Imphal East and Kangpokpi districts. Protests erupted on Sunday as the Kuki Inpi Saikul blocked a state government plan to move displaced Meitei families back to Dolaithabi. The Kuki group claims the government pushed this move without consulting local stakeholders.

Community leaders insist they want peace. They demand mutual agreement and solid security for everyone before any families head home. They said, "any return of displaced families should be preceded by mutual agreement, justice and adequate security arrangements for all communities."

Meanwhile, the Khundrakpam Kendra Youth Organization is firing back. They claim armed groups are roaming freely through the Khamenlok and Mark Hill areas. The youth group also accused Central security forces, specifically the COBRA unit, of taking sides by allowing the Kuki protests to happen unchecked.

The youth body wants displaced Meitei families back in their homes immediately. They warned that officials will answer for any violence caused by these delays. They further claimed that state forces are being held back while local residents suffer. Both state and federal authorities now face growing pressure to stop the finger-pointing and restore order.
