Imphal: Manipur Police hauled in a significant cache of weapons and ammunition from the Chingdompok area in Thoubal district. This recovery followed the arrest of Nongthongbam Ingo, a 51-year-old alleged member of the banned People's Liberation Army.

Officers tracked Ingo to Cuncolim in South Goa. A specialized police team took him into custody before turning their attention to his home turf. They acted on intelligence gathered during the initial interrogation of the suspect. The stash they uncovered included two INSAS rifles and two 9-mm pistols. They also grabbed nine magazines and 163 rounds of mixed-calibre ammunition.

Security agencies are working to cut off militant supply lines. Officials said the operation serves as part of "ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb insurgent activities and recover illegally held weapons in Manipur." Detectives are now digging into the origins of these guns to see who else helped move the hardware.
