Imphal: Manipur DGP Mukesh Singh wants results. He touched down in Noney on Tuesday to rattle the cages of district police, demanding an immediate surge in anti-extortion operations. Singh made it clear that investigators need to move faster. He told officers to clear pending cases through high-quality police work instead of letting them gather dust.

The police chief inspected the CRPF camp at Lamdangmei during his tour. He wanted a look at the security setup in the fringe areas. After the site visit, he sat down with commanders from the Central Armed Police Forces. They hammered out a plan to keep National Highway 37 open for trucks moving essential goods between Imphal and Jiribam.

Singh also took time to meet with local civil society leaders. He promised the Noney district police would work with the public to keep the peace. During the meeting, he asked for a united front to stabilize the region. "He also appealed for continued public support in maintaining law and order and working collectively towards lasting peace in the region," the statement added.
