Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh met with the Kangla Board on Friday to discuss the future of the historic Kangla Fort. The meeting in Imphal included Arts and Culture Minister Kh. Loken Singh and other top officials. They reviewed current development plans for the site. The fort served as the ancient political center of the kingdom.

Officials want to boost the site without trashing its history. The government intends to push ahead with new projects while keeping archaeological standards high. Keeping the past intact is the priority.

The Kangla Board handles all maintenance and administrative duties for the grounds. Singh emphasized that the state must protect these assets. "The government remains steadfast in its commitment to conserving and promoting Manipur's rich heritage for the benefit of future generations," Singh said.

Future work will focus on balancing modern site updates with heritage preservation. The board plans to continue these efforts to ensure the site lasts.
