Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has announced that the case involving six abducted Naga villagers from Kangpokpi district will be handed over to the National Investigation Agency. The decision follows a meeting at the Chief Minister's Secretariat with a six-member delegation from the United Naga Council, who urged the government to intensify efforts to locate the missing residents of Konsakhul village.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister confirmed that an investigation into the killing of three church leaders on May 13 has also been transferred to the federal agency. Search and rescue operations for the missing villagers have been active since May 14.

The Chief Minister called for cross-community cooperation to resolve the ongoing unrest. He requested that the United Naga Council assist in securing the release of 14 Kuki civilians who have been held captive during the conflict. Additionally, he appealed to the Kuki community to provide information regarding the missing Naga villagers. The government remains focused on stabilizing the region and urged all stakeholders to support efforts to restore peace.
