Imphal: Manipur's Congress Legislature Party leader, Keisham Meghachandra, wants answers. He is demanding that the BJP-led government deliver a clear roadmap to restore peace in the state. Ethnic violence between Meitei and Kuki communities has raged since May 3, 2023. Over 260 people are dead. Thousands more have lost their homes.

Meghachandra took to X to pressure officials. He argues the government has had nearly five months to get a handle on the crisis. People are tired of empty words. They want to know when they can return to their homes safely. They want to see a plan for rehabilitation.

The Congress leader insists the administration must be transparent about its security measures. He also wants a strategy for long-term reconciliation. "Peace cannot remain an open-ended promise," Meghachandra said. "There must be a transparent, time-bound and inclusive plan that addresses the concerns of all affected communities."

He is calling for accountability. The state must detail how it plans to secure the region and bring justice to those who lost everything. So far, the government has struggled to contain the fallout. Authorities claim they are working on normalcy, but the death toll keeps rising. Manipur remains stuck in uncertainty.
