Shillong: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh hosted Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma at his official residence on Friday night. Sangma, who also serves as the national president of the National People’s Party, arrived in Imphal for a two-day visit. He brought along NPP Manipur president Lorho S. Pfoze and Minister Kh. Loken Singh to discuss state priorities.
The meeting solidified ties between the state government and the NPP, a key partner in the BJP-led coalition. The delegation handed over a formal memorandum detailing their goals for the region. Khemchand Singh promised to review these proposals quickly. "I am confident that we will continue to honour our shared values and common vision for sustainable development and inclusive growth," the Chief Minister stated after the visit.
Earlier that day, Sangma touched down at Imphal Airport before heading to Mantripukhri. He officially opened the new NPP Manipur state unit office there. He credited local members for the project. The NPP leader met behind closed doors with his party MLAs and officials to talk shop. This visit sets the stage for the upcoming NPP annual convention in Manipur.
