Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma arrived in Imphal on Friday for a two-day visit to boost National People’s Party operations. He met with Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh at the official residence on Friday night to discuss state priorities. The NPP serves as a partner in the BJP-led government in Manipur.
The NPP delegation included party state president Lorho S. Pfoze, Minister Kh. Loken Singh, and various party MLAs. They submitted a formal memorandum outlining the party’s goals. Khemchand Singh promised to review the proposals quickly. The leaders discussed regional growth. Khemchand Singh posted on social media, “I am confident that we will continue to honour our shared values and common vision for sustainable development and inclusive growth.”
Earlier, Sangma inaugurated the new NPP Manipur state office in Mantripukhri. He called the new building a major milestone for the party. He led a closed-door meeting with MLAs and office-bearers shortly after the ribbon cutting. Sangma also addressed the NPP Annual Convention on July 25.
He used the stage to emphasize grassroots empowerment and the importance of youth and women. The NPP leader declared his mission focuses on lasting peace and prosperity for all Manipur communities. He stated the party intends to protect the local cultural heritage while pushing for progress.
